The reason you think you have to explain it is because you didn't read what I said but instead used the Internet's favorite logical fallacy, the strawman, to pretend that I said something I didn't so that you could argue against something you could comprehend instead. Bolting on multiplayer mechanics to an existing single player game is an insane amount of design work. A game designed to be multiplayer has those mechanics built in and designed that way from the beginning. Not sure why i have to explain all of this lolĮxactly. this non graphic intense game can handle multiplayer. And insane mechanics to make multiplayer? what year are you living in, ever played Empyrion? 7 Days? Warzone? Age of Empires? Satisfactory? so many things going on in those games and all are multiplayer. amazing response, i know! But to the mast majority of the world people will get bored with playing by themselves and having no one to explore the world and their base with. It merged whodunit threads with a lovely aesthetic and smart dialog.Ī Case of Distrust by solo developer Ben Wander (aka The Wandering Ben) was one of Polygon’s best 50 games from last year.Originally posted by Ruthless:People want multiplayer games because they want to build a base together. Today, Wander announced a new game called Airborne Kingdom, which involves a flying city and a search for desert migrants. This time, Wander is working with a reunited team of old friends. Prior to making A Case of Distrust, he worked at Visceral Games, part of a unit of four people who designed multiplayer modes for shooter Battlefield Hardline. After Wander’s departure, and the later shutdown of Visceral, the rest of the team went their own ways. But now they’re reuniting to make Airborne Kingdom. Collectively, they call themselves The Wandering Band.Īirborne Kingdom is a city management game with a twist: The city is mobile. It floats above a desert country, making contact with civilizations on the ground. By interacting with these societies and attracting new citizens, the city grows and improves. The game’s first images, released today, show a distinctive look, created by art director Chee Fong, who cites inspirations such as British artist Augustus Lamplough’s landscapes and Daniel Agdag’s magical realism. Autoplay Airborne Kingdom ist eine Städtebau-Simulation rund um fliegende Städte, bei der man seine schwebende Heimat über eine zufällig generierten Wüste errichten muss. Production and marketing is headed by Zach Mumbach. Resource management and exploration are common themes in strategy games. They come in both turn-based and real-time versions, the former allowing each player a chance to complete their turn, the latter having a continuous running clock without stopping. #AIRBORNE KINGDOM MULTIPLAYER WINDOWS#Since the closure of Visceral, the team members have variously worked at Crystal Dynamics, Motive Studios, and on projects outside gaming.Īfter the release of A Case of Distrust on Nintendo Switch and Windows PC, Wander knew he needed help on his next idea. They can be either single player against bots or multiplayer against other players. He was still in contact with his old pals. “We started spitballing about games that we liked and games that we wanted to make,” says Wander. “It got to a point where we thought we were onto something and so it became more serious. These are some of the best people that I know that make video games.” “If you’d told me five years ago that I’d be working with this group of people again, I would have probably signed that contract in blood with the devil, in order to make this happen. The player leads a flying city that explores a great desert He adds that there’s no hierarchy at The Wandering Band. He says his inspiration for Airborne Kingdom includes the Anno series, Frostpunk, Sunless Skies, FTL, and 80 Days. You’re exploring the landscape with these punctuated points of interest, all over the map.” “These are really good examples of nodal storytelling that we want to do, not in terms of the amount of story, but just the idea that there are these points that you can go to at any point. The game’s mechanic of interacting with other people is an underlying message that’s relevant to the wider world. “You’re getting new people to migrate to your city and understanding that these migrants bring new ways to do things,” Wander says. That’s a pretty important theme that comes through purely in the mechanic. We don’t have to hit people over the head with it. It’s just kind of obvious when you play it.”īut the theme is also relevant to Wander’s particular experience of making games. He says it’s “wonderful” to be part of a team again, after spending almost three years working alone. “Something that I’ve learned about myself is that I work best as part of a team. It’s great having other people to bounce ideas off of.

Notice how the singer continues singer, and the flames that would burn her don't seem to anything. In the music video, I believe the light is symbolized or supplemented with fire. But instead of being in enveloped in it and ceasing to exist, the protagonists remain, as this light tries to fill the space in between life and death, like it would only fully permeate people that are dead and ready (or not in limbo) or something similar. The next two lines refer to the blinding light that we believe we see at the end of the tunnel or in near death experiences. These two lines could refer to many things, but I they refer to the nature of their lives (secrets of dying / dead) and their vulnerability as human beings in this limbo state (weakness of mortality, weakness of their existence / souls etc). Also if the space between life and death is spirit like, then crowds expect certain behavior from spirits rather than actions and sense data they can't perceive. When crowds encounter people dying, they either expect the people to die or expect the people to live. The conflicting tense in these two lines ,from past to current, also reaffirms the being almost alive and not quite dead or having physically died but still existing. The second line refers to the crowd and their expectations, whether the crowd references to the two other people in the video (the gent smoking the cigarette and the woman with the blonde, who seem oblivious to the bleeding people beside them), or the audience of the song, or some other implicit crowd, I am not sure. The protagonists appear to be dead, and yet the woman is singing and you can't sing when you are dead. The first two lines match very well with the video, where the protagonists are lying bleeding on the floor. Sense the crowd expecting something more. I think this song is about The space in between Life and Death, whether Life and Death are literal or metaphors / concepts. My InterpretationI haven't heard any NiN, so I don't have the same comparison base as most of you. Either that or some variation of Joe K's comment is right. Your past may be dead to you in that it may no longer bother you, but you can never escape it when you are re-creating it again and again every night. "The things we couldn't kill" refers to the content of the actual song/art, because often times it is about something hurtful from your past, sometimes things which you have overcame or moved on from, and you are re-opening the wounds of you past. Those moments can begin to be less fulfilling and empty. The spaces in between are all the moments not onstage. It's like your dying on stage every night, but this is precisely what you live for. yet, the crowd/audience/fans still want more. You open up your personal inner world "proudly on display." It's about how you can create something so meaningful and personal that perfectly expresses your emotions/thoughts/etc. Performing art is a very vulnerable thing. General CommentI think this song is about being a musician/artist and being onstage. “Your success is not the events of your life your success is the silence you create for others that lets them feel the emotion you are radiating out to them” 2. I’m not sure why exactly, but the silence became so powerful, and I was deeply moved. In those few seconds between notes, the audience had a chance to reflect on the meaning of the words he was singing and let the melody touch their souls. While on holidays, I was watching a video of a musician who was performing an audition.ĭuring the song, I realised that the most emotional moments were when the musician kept the audience hanging on, and waiting for the next note. It’s strange how even though we learn lessons like this they can be quickly forgotten. This lesson has been fundamental to my entire life, and I have applied it to many other areas. He explained to me that the emotion was not the notes of music themselves it’s the way the notes bring about moments of silence My music producer mentor taught me that the key to creating emotion and being successful at anything you do is to create the silence between the notes. I tried so hard to make music that created high levels of energy and made people feel emotional.īringing people to tears while making them dance was my dream (it’s funny how this dream hasn’t really changed except the music has been replaced by blogging). I learned the lesson of silence many years ago when I was a music producer. Below are the 5 reasons why silence is critical: 1. Then, recently, the meaning was finally made clear to me. I have thought a lot about silence and tried to find the answer to it’s meaning. Silence is something that has plagued my mind for a long time. Away from all the everyday tasks of our lives, there are spaces of silence that we need to learn to embrace. One of the ways to unlock our success is to discover the power of silence. We live in a noisy world with lots of distractions. Remember that there’s an easier way to do it via Dynamic Link, using the Adobe Media Encoder. So if you ever find yourself having to render multiple sequences from Premiere Pro, don’t do it the slow and labor-intensive way in the Export Settings window. Once the clips are ready to encode, click the Tilde (~) key to restore the original workspace, press the magic start key button, and the files start encoding. Choosing a destination folder for the selected file. So you can either go through and change them all, or you can render out to where the files were going and then just move them to the desired location.įigure 9. So if I open up the output file to send the file to a different location ( Figure 9, below), I can change the destination folder only to the selected clip, not to all the clips. Changing the encoding preset for all of the clips by changing it for the top one (with all clips selected).Īs you can see in Figure 8 (below), the selected encoding preset for all the clips in the Queue window has changed from Match Source – High bitrate to 720p30 – 10 Mbps.Īlthough you can change all the encoding presets in one fell swoop, you can’t do likewise with the output file. I want to change that for all of the clips to YouTube 720p30 - 10 Mbps ( Figure 7, below).įigure 7. Click the Format or Preset name to open the Export Settings dialog box. Right now the default preset, Match Source - High-bitrate, is selected. Right-click the row for the text showing Format, preset and output file path file and select Export Settings. To maximize the window, press the Tilde (~) key above the Tab key, and then press Control+A (Windows) or Command+A (Mac), and now if you change the preset or the format, they will change for all the clips. Select the ones you want to import (in this case, all of them), click OK, and Adobe Media Encoder will load all of them into the Queue ( Figure 6, below).įigure 6. #ADOBE MEDIA ENCODER CC COMPRESS VIDEO PRO#16 Premiere Pro sequences, ready to import. Click on the project you want to export from, and all of your sequences (in this case, all 16 of them) will appear in one folder, as shown in Figure 5.įigure 5. There you’ll see all of your Premiere Pro projects. To import a Premiere Pro sequence, choose Add Premiere Pro sequence from File menu, which opens the Import Premiere Pro Sequence dialog ( Figure 5, below). Switch the bitrate encoding to VBR, 2 pass. You may have to press the down arrow to open the box. In the video settings, scroll down to bitrate settings. Once the Media Encoder is open, click the output file link in the queue to edit the settings. A lot of editors use Adobe Media Encoder just as an encoder to send files from Premiere Pro, but you can also load files, After Effects compositions, and Premiere Pro sequences ( Figure 4, below).įigure 4. If you are using After Effects, go to Composition > Add to Adobe Media Encoder Queue. The good news is, there’s an easier way, and it involves Dynamic Link via the Adobe Media Encoder. It’s kind of tedious when you have to do that 16 times. The Faster Way: Using Adobe Media Encoder Use mp4tools mp4#Gihosoft Free Video Cutter can be used to edit large video files of AVI, MPEG, VOB, WMV, MKV, FLC, and MP4 formats. The scroll bar might be a touch difficult to use at the initial stages, making it challenging to set the position precisely. Also, the app allows you to adjust video codec, sizes, bit rates, and frame rates. Weeny helps you break huge files into smaller clips and re-arrange them. The software is compatible with Windows 7 or later. Weeny Free Video Cutter is the best video trimmer app and supports popular formats like MP4, WMV, VOB, 3GP, FLV, MPG, ASF, AVI, and RM.

We get a small cut if you buy something through one of our links. Some of our posts include links to online retail stores. This is not a long game, and I can show the 5.9 hours (thanks, Steam) it took me to almost 100% it as proof. My longest single session of JYDGE was around 40 minutes during which I’ve beaten about half the game’s levels on two of the four difficulties. It all makes me think of Angry Birds or any other high-profile mobile game that you can play in bursts of a few minutes. Almost every medal unlocks something new, and dying and retrying is a click away. The levels take a couple minutes to beat, at most, with medals requiring as fast as a 15-second-or-less run. The enemy sounds, gunfire, explosion and destruction all sound and look pretty simple and basic.ĭespite its shortcomings, JYDGE has a certain appeal to it. The music is a generic assortment of techno loops which don’t get in the way but don’t really do anything else. If we’re being perfectly honest, a great deal of the game’s graphics appears to be copy-pasted straight out of Neon Chrome. JYDGE’s graphics and sound contribute to that “mobile” feel with their simplicity. Like that one mandatory stealth level in every FPS game ever, some people are going to enjoy it while others will want to get back to the hails of gunfire. And yet to progress, the game forces you to complete levels stealthily or in other counter-intuitive ways that are just plain not fun. They certainly add variety by forcing you to think tactically, beyond “Rush in and murder everyone”.īut this is a game that’s about rushing in and murdering everyone. The medals are both the game’s greatest burden and its biggest source of replayability. This means that completing levels often becomes a simple matter of trial-and-error especially when going for the more annoying medals, like avoiding detection or killing any enemies. Enemy positions, loot, doors, civilians and everything else is fixed, with the various difficulties changing the layout or adding more baddies for you to go through. Unlike the randomly-generated levels of many other top-down shooter, JYDGE’s levels are pre-made. The one thing JYDGE does differently is the level design. As you might have guessed, this lets you grind the same levels again with a different set of objectives, so you can amass enough medals to unlock the next level. These can be new weapon modes, cybernetic enhancements or tools.Īfter you grind enough medals, you can unlock the next level, and after you grind your way through a chapter you unlock the next difficulty. You play, replay and then re-replay levels to grind for medals, which unlock additional toys to play with. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but everything about it just screams “Play me on a tablet”. The camera remains at a respectable overview distance so you can appreciate the carnage you’re causing as you shoot, burn, shock and explode your way through legions of enemies.Īfter playing the game for several hours, I can say JYDGE feels more like a mobile game. If civilians get in the way of your rockets, that’s their problem (unless you’re actually supposed to rescue them in the mission). If you need to level the entire bank to get at the three robbers in the vault, so be it. You play a faceless, nameless Judge Dredd / RoboCop hybrid as you set out to purge the city of crime while causing extreme collateral damage. although it does show some additional fine-tuning and refinement. JYDGE doesn’t really try to deviate from the “top down shooter” formula 10tons have been reiterating on for the past decade. It’s pretty obvious who’s the target audience here. If you’ve played Neon Chrome and enjoyed it, then you can skip the rest of this review and go straight to playing JYDGE. The easiest way to answer the question “What is JYDGE” would be to point to 10tons’ other titles, Neon Chrome and Crimsonland, and say – “This”. This would be Bruno Mars’ seventh record of the year nomination and Anderson. Silk Sonic was victorious for both record and song of the year with “Leave the Door Open.” The duo could return to the finals in both categories with this hit. It could bring her a second nod in this category, after she was nominated three years ago for her breakthrough hit, “Truth Hurts.” Hot 100 peak: No. This smash, which could have slid right into a 1979 disco playlist, has the flirty, playful sound and positive energy that have become Lizzo’s trademarks. This also would be Imagine Dragons’ second nod in this category the band was in contention nine years ago for “Radioactive.” Hot 100 peak: No. Beyonce taylor swift note series#This rock-rap fusion, from the animated streaming series Arcane, would be the first song from a TV show to be nominated. Within Reach: Drake, Honestly, Nevermind Future, I Never Liked You Elton John, The Lockdown Sessions Miranda Lambert, Palomino Lizzo, Special Post Malone, Twelve Carat Toothache Bonnie Raitt, Just Like That… Rosalía, Motomami Summer Walker, Still Over It The Weeknd, Dawn FM The album produced two top five hits on the Hot 100 - “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and “Surface Pressure.” Billboard 200 peak: No. 1 (nine weeks) Beyonce taylor swift note movie#This is vying to become the first soundtrack to an animated movie to be nominated in this category since Beauty and the Beast 30 years ago. Swift’s original Red was nominated nine years ago. Moreover, it would be the third year in a row Swift has been nominated - the most consecutive years with a nod in this category since Lady Gaga three-peated from 2009 to 2011. This would be Swift’s sixth nomination in this category, which would tie Barbra Streisand for the most nods by a female artist. Four songs from Harry’s House made the top 10 on the Hot 100. Two years ago, Styles’ smash “Watermelon Sugar” won best pop solo vocal performance, but he is overdue for a nod in a Big Four category. The project spawned two top five hits on the Hot 100, “Leave the Door Open” and “Smokin’ Out the Window.” Billboard 200 peak: No. 2 An Evening With Silk Sonic won album of the year at the BET Awards in June. Paak, won four awards at the 64th annual Grammys in April. “Leave the Door Open,” the debut hit by the retro-soul duo of Mars and Anderson. “Bad Habits” was nominated last year for song of the year. Two songs from =, “Bad Habits” and “Shivers,” made the top five on the Hot 100. This would be Sheeran’s second nod in this category. Four songs from Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers made the top 10 on the Hot 100. This would be Lamar’s fourth studio album to be nominated in this category, which would tie Ye (aka Kanye West) for the most by a rapper. Its lead single, “Right On Time,” was nominated last year for record and song of the year. This would be Carlile’s second album in a row to be nominated in this category. She would become the first woman of color to receive four album of the year nods as a lead artist. Released July 29, Renaissance would be Beyoncé’s fourth album to be nominated in this category, following I Am… Sasha Fierce (2009), Beyoncé (2014) and Lemonade (2016). Four songs from Un Verano Sin Ti made the top 10 on the Hot 100. Bad Bunny won Grammys in each of the last two years with YHLQMDLG (best Latin pop or urban album) and El Último Tour del Mundo (best música urbana album). This project is vying to become the first Spanish-language album to receive an album of the year nod. 30 has spawned two top five hits on the Billboard Hot 100 - “Easy on Me” and “Oh My God.” Billboard 200 peak: No. 1 (its first six weeks) She won with her last two studio albums, 21 and 25. This would be Adele’s third consecutive album to be nominated in this category. The big question mark is Taylor Swift, whose Red (Taylor’s Version) could become the first rerecording of an artist’s album to be nominated for album of the year. They will likely face off against Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar, who are still looking for their first wins in this category. Three British pop superstars - Adele, Ed Sheeran and Styles - are apt to be nominated. Grammy 2023: Cómo categorizaron álbumes de Beyoncé, Demi Lovato, Bad Bunny y más

I'm just going to say slash from now on because a UNIX slash is always the forward slash. And then, L-N, dash s, and then a forward slash. So follow along, but don't press Return at the end. The dollar sign is where you type the command, and I'm going to type a command here, and then we're going to go back, and I'll explain it before we press Return. In fact, it's the largest installed base of any UNIX variant and so this is a UNIX command line. Just be very careful and pay close attention to every character that you type. Spelling and punctuation is critical here. But a word of warning, type very carefully. This step is important, especially if you want to access the command-line interface in the future, and if you're taking some of my other courses on or on LinkedIn, you may want to have this. #Downoad mysql for mac install#Later, we're going to install the graphical interface, the MySQL Workbench. I'm going to walk you through this, literally character by character so that we don't make any mistakes. Now, this may be intimidating for some of you if you've not used the UNIX command line before. And you notice I get this UNIX command prompt. It's operated from the command line so I run Terminal, the Apple macOS Terminal program. Now, the command-line interface, sometimes called the CLI. #Downoad mysql for mac password#And at least for our purposes here, we want to use the Strong Password Encryption, so that we can use it. And I get this choice: Use Strong Password Encryption or Use Legacy Password Encryption. This is the password for my computer that I'm installing this on. We're going to have different passwords involved in this process so I just want to be clear. I'm going to type the password for my computer here. #Downoad mysql for mac license#So I press Continue, and I press Continue, and I accept the license agreement which I have not read. And if you've installed anything on your Mac, most of this is very familiar. I opened up this DMG file and I get a Mac installation package, a pkg file, and so I'll double-click on that, and I get this little warning that's going to run a program to determine et cetera. It's the exact same process for downloading both of them. And I've also downloaded the MySQL Workbench. And so, I've already downloaded that onto my desktop here and it's right here. And you notice that when I hover over that, I get the DMG file. You just press No thanks, just start my download. If you do that, you're going to get a ton of email, most of it asking you to spend money on stuff you don't need so I didn't do that. And when you press Download, you get yet another page and this page asks you to login or just sign up. When you click on this, you'll see, you'll get a page with a bunch of stuff, and then down here, have an operating system selected, in this case, macOS because I'm doing this on a Mac, and you'll have a bunch of different choices here. #Downoad mysql for mac download#And so, I've already download both of these to my desktop, but I just want to run you though this really quickly. MySQL Community Server and then farther along down, MySQL Workbench. So down here under the MySQL Community Downloads, we'll notice a couple of items. #Downoad mysql for mac free#The Community edition is free and it doesn't cost anything at all. See, Enterprise edition cost money and if you're not running an enterprise, we're just running this for yourself, and in this case, we're just using this for development, and really just for learning so the Community edition is exactly what we want. Significantly, the Enterprise and Community editions. Now, there's several different editions of MySQL. And so, we have the MySQL Community Downloads. And I've got DOWNLOADS here selected and Community selected. So here I have /downloads and I've loaded this up in my browser. So I'm going to press Command + Q to quit the System Preferences, and now we'll go ahead, and download MySQL from the website. If MySQL Server was running on this computer, there would be a little highlight around one of these items for the MySQL panel, but we don't have that, and so MySQL Server is not running on this computer. and you'll notice that nothing is highlighted here in the System Preferences. First, we need to confirm that we're not already running MySQL Server on this computer. The process should be the same on any modern version of macOS. We'll install the MySQL Server on a Mac running macOS. |
